TRAINING SESSIONS

We encourage all our athletes to attend training to improve their skills, fitness levels and to foster strong friendships - and also to have fun!  Coaches use a variety of techniques, training drills and fun-based activities to help our athletes be the best that they can be!

All our volunteer coaches have Working With Children Checks and have undertaken coaching courses run by Little Athletics Victoria. 

 

Please ensure your child is signed in. It is also a requirement that a parent or guardian must be in attendance at training and on competition days.

​

Please arrive early to training to allow time to check-in.

SUMMER SEASON CLUB TRAINING (Athletics Skill Based)

Our pre-season Summer season training commences on Tuesday, 5 September 2023!

​

Training is provided to returning members, those who have registered for a trial with LAVic and fully paid-up members.  Please note that training is not permitted for athletes that do not wish to compete in weekly centre competition.

​

Training is conducted in age groups.

 

Training will be held at Sprint Athletics Track:

Tuesday nights - 5:30pm to 7pm 

Thursday nights - 5:30pm to 7pm  

​

Training is encouraged but is not compulsory.

​

These training session are offered only to athletes in the U9 to U17 age groups that wish to compete at Regional and State Events, including State Combined, Regional Track & Field Carnival and Regional Relays.

CROSS COUNTRY TRAINING

During our Winter Season (which runs from May to August each year) we offer two training sessions per week. More information will be provided as we approach the Winter season.
